Dualit 40352

Very good Dualit Toaster at very good price. But be warned this is the old model and the slightly dull red, not the new metallic cherry red. No matter to us as it makes very good toast but we really wanted the newer one. Not worth sending back though as shipping to Portugal (our home) was expensive and it does its job excellently! If you want new model you can tell that by the knob to turn for number of slices 1-4 instead of the switch on this one for 2 or 4 slices.

2nd Dualit toaster we have purchased very stylish.

Excellent value, Amazon Warehouse deal. The toaster is lovely looking in my kitchen. The variable timer knob allows me to toast bread to my liking, and the lever allows me to periodically check it if required.

I don't know how it works but it just does.

You pop raw bread into the little letter boxes and turn a dial, you can hear some tick tick ticking which I assume is tiny people with clogs on running around inside performing the magic. After a little while they throw the transformed raw bread, which is now toast!!! upward - the little people aren't so strong so you have to assist them raising it with a lever but really that's the least you can do after their efforts.

After buying many cheaper toasters we decided to see if the Dualit was really worth the money.
And yes, it is, every penny.
Its simple timer mechanism means YOU decide how you want your toast, bagels, crumpets, rolls, toasted sandwiches etc etc.
Works perfectly with frozen bread, for thicker slices you can even heat them up a bit, then leave them in the warm toaster for a while for the centre to defrost, then heat again to finish them off to perfection.
It's the only toaster we found...
