      Bread doesnt fit!
Review by Amazon Customer on October 29, 2017
The toaster looks good, works well but there is one obvious design flaw, in that an average British slice of white bread doesn't fit ! You have a choice, 2 slices vertically with the top 1" not toasted at all, or one slice laid on its side, perfectly toasted. Its not a difficult task when designing a toaster to measure the average slice of bread :)

ONLY GOOD FOR THIN SLICED SQUARE BREAD
Review by Jennifer Ann Kay on October 19, 2017
If you like Warburtons bread or crumpets, then this is a toaster not for you. To toast Warburtons you have to half way through toasting take it out of the toaster and turn it the other way. Inside the aperture, there are two "clamps" that open when it is turned off, and when you put your bread in they clamp the bread. Warburtons large crumpets will just not go into the toaster. I hate it. I feel that I have just threw my money straight into the bin, because that is exactly where this is going!

      No good for toast
Review by Amazon Customer on August 20, 2017
The toaster itself looks good and neat and yes has extra wide toasting racks for your teacakes/crumpets but wait until you try and toast bread. It is so shallow it can't take a whole slice. So you can only toast 1 end of yiur toast at once.

There are much better toasters out there
Review by Claire T on May 31, 2017
Wouldn't recommend or buy again. Very expensive and it's just a novelty really. Toasting bar (push down) is wonky so some of your bread still sticks out of the top, and it toasts darker on the solid side compared to the glass. You can just about get 2 small sized slices of bread next to each other too.

Pretty, Compact and does the job.
Review by Anna on April 26, 2017
Really good toaster that looks lovely in my kitchen. It is compact and the only thing that holds a star back is that it is not deep enough for standard bread slices and you have to push down on the bread but I can put up with this.

Lever broke after a month of light usage
Review by Gabpie on April 15, 2017
The lever broke after a month of light usage. It looks like bad design as the lever is fixed with a tiny screw and it require some pressure to engage. I am now waiting from Amazon for assistance but this is not a product I can recommend.
The previous Russel Hobbs toaster we had broke in a similar way but it lasted a few years so we were happy enough to give the brand another go.

Great apart from top of bread does not cook
Review by SH on January 31, 2015
Looks great. Toast is cooked v.quickly (c.90 seconds). Toast is cooked nicely and evenly. However, as with many toasters, the top of the bread remains largely uncooked due to the toaster's heating element not being large enough - as shown per picture.

The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread :-)
Review by Clare McEnnis on October 27, 2014
We needed to replace our old toaster. So a-looking and a-browsing we did go LoL. Looking at the various and varying prices, some bordering on the nutty (???) we opted to have a look in our local Harvey Normans Store. As look would have it there was an all stainless steel Russell Hobbs toaster at a special price of €29 Euro which we snapped up. (Russell Hobbs 2 Slice Classic with Lift and Look Toaster). The original price was €40++ but knocked down in price because they had lost the box ans...

Review by Keltika on April 20, 2013
I purchased this toaster on April 4th, 2013, and received it last week (started using it April 12th). It looked cute in my kitchen, and was pleased with it at first (although I felt it was bit fragile machine, and that you have to put your hand on the left side to hold the toaster when you want to lower the lever to start the toasting!).. Today, it stopped working!! I must have used it only 7-8 times as I don't toast much. I'm so angry now! Don't be fooled like me with the cute design and affordable price...

      Toaster
Review by spanishswan on September 26, 2012
At 68 the best toaster I have ever purchased, have purchased over the years most of well know brands including RH, this toaster, looks good, love the way controls are on the front, most importantly it toasts beautifully very even both sides, have not as yet burnt a piece of toast, yes the sides get hot, but I only tested this as had read in one review, but as I don't touch the sides, there is no obvious need to do so, toast in toast out. Can't say if any of my other toasters got hot at the sides as never...

Nice toaster - but no bun warmer!
Review by D. Jones on December 9, 2010
This is a very good toaster. It is chrome, glass and black, which gives it a really good quality feel, unlike the cheaper plastic toasters. The buttons on the front look more like a DVD player than a toaster - so if you like modern and slightly quirky styling, this will suit you.

      Good points:
      - Makes excellent toast - evenly toasted and seems to be consistent on each use.
      - Slot is wide enough to fit two slices of bread made by my Panasonic breadmaker (just)
      - Unit is much thinner...

Review by A. Turner on March 29, 2010
Looked at other reviews for many toasters on here, and all seem to suffer from either premature failure, bad build quality, or uneven toast or the toast doesn't fit.

This one had only 1 review, but it was generally positive. Not a large sample size, but I risked it. Bought this one (from Argos actually, as I had vouchers), but so far been impressed.

Handles and buttons feel well made. Actually does good toast! Very uniform browning, and Kingsmill toastie fits in longways with room...

      Just the job!
Review by D. Chapman on November 27, 2009
I have always enjoyed the occasional toasted sandwich and recently discovered our existing sandwich maker had given up the ghost. The old appliance was ok apart that you had to butter the bread on the outside to stop it sticking and the absence of the floating hinge often led to the contents being squeezed out at the front as the lid was shut. After a quick visit to a few electrical high street stores and a look on the net I discovered this Russell Hobbs 3 in 1. The rest as they say "is history"...

Review by Fussy Princess "FBP" on February 16, 2009
Not bought from Amazon, but a major Supermarket instead where it was a couple of pounds cheaper.

This toaster manages to fulfill the simple criteria of fitting a standard (and then some) slice of bread, followed by toasting it very evenly and consistently.

It isn't particularly fast, compared with the outgoing Tefal Hi-speeed its slow. The reward for a slightly longer wait is a proper full-size piece of toast rather than half of slice of squashed up bread that's crispy on the outside...
