What's an induction hob Induction hobs heat the pan not the hob using an electrical current. Induction hobs can heat a pan faster than a traditional gas or electric hob, and are more energy efficient. They're also easier to clean, as you can wipe the hob shortly after using it. Remember, not all ceramic hobs are induction hobs. An induction hob can only be used with induction compatible pans. You can use induction kettles which are faster to boil than normal kettles with induction hobs. The fine degree of control over the power of the hob is also good for tasks like melting chocolate or making a sauce. Induction cooking is fast, clean and easy to clean up after. A good looking and well built piece of kit. When I have verified it’s compatibility on my quality inverter I will update my post. -

Rating Useful addition to supplement a gas hob
Review by Keep it simple on September 11, 2017Excellent item that provides much more control than a conventional electric hob. I purchased it for use in a holiday home to reduce my requirement for bottled gas. It is solidly made with a sensible layout of controls. My only niggle is the use of codes rather than Watts or %s as is used on microwave ovens. Fortunately, most of my existing pans worked but this could be an additional expense. Overall a very good little unit. -

It has a wide range of power settings (9) and clever, single push functions for simply heating milk quickly without boiling or boiling water then switching off, just like a kettle, stir frying, deep fat cooking etc..
It has up to a 2 hour timer then turns off, keeping the reasonable quiet fan on for a while to cool down the ceramic top. This is quicker if the hot item is removed of course.

Rating Function buttons not working correctly
Review by Les McNeill on February 3, 2014This unit was working really well until I used either the boiling water or heating milk pre set buttons. The manual states that on these two settings (1) water will reach boiling point and the hob will switch off while signalling it has reached boiling point with two beeps.
(2) That it will heat milk up to 80 degrees and switch off without boiling the milk, again indicating this with two audible beeps.
When I used either of these functions the water continued to boil without switching off, and...
